Meet Sheri Bentley

Hi! I’m Sheri—a children’s author of board books and picture books, literacy advocate, and lifelong lover of stories that make kids laugh, lean in, or feel the magic of connecting with a book.

For more than 12 years, I’ve coached children in literacy through a nonprofit called The Reading Seed, helping children build confidence and joy about reading. I’m also a member of SCBWI, several critique groups, and the Assistance League's Hooked on Books committee. I was a winner in the #KidChoice contest ('24), the #KidLitVibes contest ('24), received honorable mentions in the #50PreciousWords contest ('23 and '24), and had a poem published in The Dirigible Balloon ('25).

Whether I’m writing books filled with humor and heart or working with readers, my goal is always the same: to help children fall in love with books.
